How To Use A Makeup Brush: Powder vs. Liquid Foundation

A brush for every occasion! Can you imagine that? As we know, makeup brushes can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, each with its own unique purpose.

For example, some makeup brushes are designed to help you apply makeup to concentrated areas, and some are designed to help you blend your makeup together flawlessly.

Given the variety of options, shopping for makeup brushes can get confusing, and potentially overwhelming.

That’s why in this article, we’ll discuss how to use a makeup brush for these 2 different types of foundations: powder foundation, and liquid foundation.

Powder Foundation

Powder foundation can be great for light coverage and is especially beneficial for oily skin types. It has the power to absorb excess oils and to last longer than liquid foundation, especially in warmer climates.

If you choose to use powder foundation, there’s a specific brush for that!

For best results:

With a thicker base and soft bristles, you can use a powder foundation brush to gently sweep your foundation all over your face, quickly, and easily.

Because powder foundation is typically so lightweight, you don’t really need to worry about overdoing it. If you’re concerned about your powder foundation sticking to any dry patches, make sure to sweep your brush in a rainbow-type motion.

Our favorite brush for powder foundation is the Fièra Finishing Powder Brush. This brush is built for simple, even application, and is extremely easy to clean.

Liquid Foundation

Similar to powder foundation, liquid foundation is an equally effective option for face and neck coverage, with a few different perks. Liquid foundation is generally better for dry skin and can provide a heavier coverage which can be especially nice when attempting to even out your skin tone.

Unlike with powder foundation, you do have to wait a minute before applying other makeup on top of your liquid foundation. Waiting momentarily for your liquid foundation to dry will help ensure that the rest of your makeup goes on seamlessly, and blends well.

For best results:

Take your foundation and sweep it over any problem spots. For covering wrinkles and fine lines, we recommend beginning at the center of the face, and working outwards, always moving in an outward motion.

With the Fièra Anti-Aging Concealer Brush, you can reach any fine lines, wrinkles, or other problem spots without any hassle.

Many women with mature skin fear the creases and crevasses that most liquid foundations can create. That’s why we believe in using the Fièra Luxury Concealer for all your foundation and/or concealer needs, for a smooth, and flawless finish.

All-Natural Brushes

When purchasing makeup brushes, it’s important to make sure both the brand and the product are cruelty-free. Nowadays, synthetic brushes are made to match the look and feel of animal-based brushes and are better for all parties involved.

At Fièra Cosmetics, we believe in being cruelty-free, paraben-free, BHA & BHT free, and fragrance-free. Don’t let unwanted chemicals or production methods into your skincare routine: shop all natural!
